Refund & Deposit Cancellation Policy / Politique de remboursement et d’annulation de dépôt

1. Scope

This policy applies to any deposit paid (“Deposit”) by a prospective lessee (customer) to JFT Auto in advance of a lease or vehicle transaction, where the customer cancels the deal before the final contract is executed. This policy does not guarantee refunds in all circumstances — see the conditions below.

2. Deposit and Cancellation Terms

2.1 Deposit as Good-Faith Commitment

  • A Deposit may be requested to reserve a vehicle or begin the administrative process (credit check, paperwork).

  • The Deposit is not a payment toward monthly lease payments, unless agreed in writing.

2.2 Cancellation by Customer

If a customer chooses to cancel the transaction before signing the final lease or purchase contract, the following rules apply:

  • A portion of the Deposit may be retained by JFT Auto to cover administrative costs, processing fees, or other reasonable expenses incurred up to the point of cancellation.

  • The amount to be retained (if any) will be disclosed to the customer at the time of deposit and in writing (e.g. in the reservation form).

  • The remaining balance of the Deposit (if any) will be refunded to the customer within [X business days] after cancellation.

2.3 Non-Refundable Deposit

  • In certain cases (e.g. the vehicle has been held exclusively for the customer, third-party arrangements made, or significant administrative costs incurred), the Deposit may be non-refundable in whole or in part.

  • If the Deposit is non-refundable, this will be clearly stated in writing to the customer before they pay it (e.g. “non-refundable portion: $___”).

2.4 Timing and Method of Refund

  • Refunds, when applicable, will be made via the same payment method used for the Deposit (e.g. credit card, bank transfer) unless otherwise agreed.

  • Refunds will be processed within [X business days] of receiving a valid cancellation request.

3. Cancellation by JFT Auto / Dealership

  • If JFT Auto cancels a deal (e.g. due to inability to secure the vehicle, credit issues, or other internal reasons) before signing a final contract, the full Deposit will be refunded to the customer within [X business days].

  • No penalties or deductions will be made in that case, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4. How to Cancel and Request Refund

A cancellation and refund request must be made in writing (email or written notice) and include:

  • Customer name and contact details

  • Date of deposit and amount paid

  • Reason for cancellation

  • Preferred refund method (if different)
